saturday is here again. just came back from school. wanted to come earlier to do some marking..but because of a late night yesterday, i could not open my eyes in the morning. its so nice to wake up later than usual.

this week had been another mad week. was really really occupied with cheerleading and vetting of papers..i wish theres 48 hours in a day. rite.

ytd was sports day. or should i say.. supposed to be sports day? the whole school was making its way down to toa payoh stadium when it started to rain cats and dogs. we had to assemble at the stadium nevertheless. we waited and waited for the rain to stop. it did..but much later. and by then, the track was wet and slippery and the soil was soaked. so, in the end, the whole sports day was postponed. we just had some international friendship day games, teachers' games and lucky draw. teachers' game was really simple.. we had to sweep the basketball across about 20 m? hehe. i swear i was sweeping the ball and running a little.. but apparently my kids said i was dancing? haha. how can that be rite! but thats not the point.. the point is, Aquila (my house) won the teachers' race. we started off LAST. but we came out FIRST. haha. yay for Aquila!

my cheerleaders were very sad and disappointed that the cheerleading competition was put off. they stayed till 11pm the night before just to practise but thanks to the rain, it was all in vain. well, no one knows that it would rain for sure. so, this is purely a case of no luck. i must say that i am really proud of my cheerleaders. despite the extremely short period of preparation time, they gave so much committment. more than half the team is heavily involved in SYF dance. thus, cheerleading practices could only effectively start at 5.30pm and must stop at 7pm cos the school has to close. so that is only about 1.5 hours! on tues, they had no songs, no cheers, no costumes and no steps. but by thurs night, everything was put together! three claps for their determination!! special thanks to jannath for allowing all of us to practise at her house till 11pm on thurs. i sent the kids back since it was late and i wouldnt want anything to happen to them! such wonderful students. go AQUILA!

i have a heap of marking to be done. geez.
