One month passed by so fast.. just when i started to 'warm up', the whole stay is over. I'm both sad and happy. Sad that i wont be able to conduct lessons to 307 anymore.. happy that i'm going NIE to be trained to be a better educator..

If i have to describe my enhanced school experience in one word, i would say it was enriching. Being mostly the silent observer, i learnt a lot. Theres lots to teaching. Teaching per say is not the problem.. but its more about classroom management.. Once the class can be managed, MANY things can be done. teaching can occur. learning can take place. Teenagers arent easy. One wrong move and thats it. I dont blame them cos i was like that once. There were teachers i truly love and they were those who kids just love to hate. I wish to be be truly loved. They say EVSS has students who are really apreciative... thats great isnt it? Who doesnt want to feel appreciated? everyone does. teacher or not.

I figure that sincerity can bring someone far. If you can convince your students that you are sincere in helping them and really care for them, half the battle is won. As what adeline said during the counselling workshop.. sometimes, our influence on them cant be seen when they are in school.. but a few years down the road...after they graduate from the school, they will reach a point when they realize we actually meant well. and that will be THE moment that we had made a difference. We may not know of the moment but it was there. It happened.

I had my last lesson with 307 just now.. the first thing they asked for was jelly beans!! well, i promised to get them some.. but theres none in tampines mall!! so i gave the kids a choc wafer each and some sweets too. One thing for sure.. students remember every tiny weeny promise teachers make. It was such a good feeling to see my very own notes got printed out and filed in their bio file!!! like wow. hehehe. but its an ever better feeling to see that some students have actually made their OWN notes on the topic that was being taught!! It shows that they are interested.. and thats really important.*one point to those who actually make their notes*

Simple remarks like "cher, i understand your lesson" can be an instant morale booster. The only thing is i hope its true cos sometimes they can say they understand but when assessed, they don't!! but its ok.. theres always the corrective mechanism..*winks*

Special thanks to Kelvin for his guidance. It was great working with him.. Thanks for letting me have a feel of teaching bio.. it was fun!! really! and thanks for helping me along.. its been a pleasure to meet you.. *Smilez*

So now that the stay is over.. i gotto gear up for NIE. wish me luck.

nitez..
